Description

Turin is Italy’s most understated capital. It was the country’s first capital and still retains this character today: wide Baroque boulevards, eighteen kilometres of arcades and palaces that reveal almost nothing from the street.

We start at Porta Nuova and walk up Via Roma, the street that runs through the heart of the city, to Piazza San Carlo, Turin’s elegant drawing room, framed by its twin churches and lined with historic cafés.

From there, we continue towards Piazza Castello, where Palazzo Madama reveals both sides of Turin at once: a medieval fortress at the back and a Baroque façade designed by Juvarra at the front. Next to it stands the Royal Palace, home to the House of Savoy for centuries.

We continue through the arcaded streets towards Via Po and the Mole Antonelliana, the unlikely tower that was originally intended to be a synagogue and went on to become the symbol of the city.

The guide is a qualified tourist guide, and the tour is conducted directly in English or Turkish, without the use of an interpreter. The tour lasts approximately 2.5 hours (3.14 km), and the pace is adapted to the group. Let us know your interests in advance and the itinerary can be adjusted accordingly.
